New Education Law Service: Iain Nisbet joins Cairn as a consultant solicitor

Cairn Legal are delighted to announce that Iain Nisbet is joining the firm as a consultant solicitor.  Iain is a noted specialist in the field of education law, with particular expertise in additional support needs, equality in education and Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC).  He is the only solicitor in Scotland to receive a Band 1 ranking in the Education (Individuals) category within Chambers UK Legal Directory, and one of only three in the United Kingdom.

Cairn Legal are now able to offer a full education law service to parents, pupils, students, voluntary sector organisations and educational establishments on both a legal aid and private client basis.  Referrals and enquiries are now welcome about any education law matter including: placing requests, admission, exclusions, additional support needs, discrimination claims, transport and bullying.

The firm currently speciliases in helping families affected by learning disaiblity, dementia, mental health and brain injury.  The new service will sit alongside exising areas of expertise such as guardianships, powers of attorney and using trusts to protect inheritance and provide a secure future.

Nicola Smith (Principal Solicitor at Cairn Legal) and Iain last worked together at Govan Law Centre over a decade ago and have continued to work in the field of social welfare law.  This new collaboration brings together two of Scotland's leading practitioners in disability law and promises a bright future for the firm.
